Your partner in pain elimination

Mickie earned her Bachelor’s of Exercise Science from Saint Louis University in 2015. She values what the Jesuit education gave her in learning to be a servant leader by understanding how to treat patients as a whole person and not by the impairments he or she presents. This mission coincides with what she aspires to embody as a physical therapist. She went on to complete her Doctor of Physical Therapy at Saint Louis University in 2017.  During her graduate education she found a passion for manual therapy and undivided, one-on-one patient care. She has seen and experienced how patients excel with this treatment and believes Reiss Physical Therapy is a special place to offer such high quality care. Mickie especially enjoys developing a professional rapport with her clients by pushing them to reach their best health.

Her career thus far has mostly consisted of treating a wide range of orthopedic diagnoses within a general outpatient and sports orthopedic setting as well post stroke neurological rehab.

Mickie has been a member of the American Physical Therapy Association since 2013. She is pursuing continuing education courses relating to various treatments and diagnoses of orthopedic injuries and aspires to specialize and receive her OCS.

As a native Midwesterner, you will find Mickie soaking up all that California has to offer from the beach to the mountains. Due to living by the beach, you will most likely find here there but she also enjoys hiking, reading, sketching and exploring all of the food and culture that LA has to offer.

Emily earned her Bachelor of Arts degree in History and Pre-Medical Studies from the University of Notre Dame in 2008. After spending her undergraduate years learning the importance of social justice and responsibility Emily spent the next two years with Americorps, volunteering with at-risk youth in Southern California. Emily returned to school after her service was completed and in 2013 she earned her Doctor of Physical Therapy degree from the University of Southern California. While at USC she participated in nutrition and physical wellness counseling to low-income families in East Los Angeles and created training programs for athletes participating in the Special Olympics. She also participated in the creation of an ACL tear risk assessment and prevention program for use by youth sports teams.

Upon graduation Emily began working in Orange County where she gained a strong manual therapy background and experience in treating patients with various orthopedic and neurological conditions, including sports injuries, post-surgical, Parkinson’s disease, post-stroke, and general overuse injuries. She gained extensive experience in working with patients with low back pain and spine and ribcage dysfunctions. Additional, she also gained experience in treating performing artists, including dancers, musicians, and singers.

Emily has been a member of the American Physical Therapy Association since 2010 and is a member of the APTA Sports Medicine Section as well as a member of the California Physical Therapy Association.

In her free time Emily enjoys trying out different fitness classes, tasting new foods, watching Irish football, reading, going to plays and musicals, and, like any true native Southern Californian, spending as much time as possible at the beach.
